Growing the Conversation: Rail-Trail as Community Development Asset

It is great to see communities back home in Australia tapping into the conversation about the many economic and social benefits of trail creation.

crookwellAs we continue to refine our strategies for using Communications as a powerful trail-building tool here in the U.S., it has been terrific to be able to lend that experience to the fledgling rail-trail movement in the places I grew up in, and the communities I one day hope to return to.

Here’s a piece I wrote this week for the Crookwell Gazette in the Southern Tablelands of NSW. A number of small cities and towns in this neck of the woods are exploring the possibility of a Crookwell to Goulburn rail-trail. As you’ll read here, I think that’s a tremendous idea, and a smart investment in the region.
